Who we are
A firm built on understanding businesses from the inside.
Elite Prime Far East is a private investment firm based in Central, Hong Kong. The firm’s origins lie in working alongside private companies as they prepared for the public market. That experience taught us what durable businesses look like from the inside, and it led naturally to investing in them ourselves.
Today we invest across six strategies, from late-stage private rounds and listed equities to private credit, real assets, special situations and long-term strategic holdings. Each is run by a dedicated team and approved by a single investment committee that meets weekly.
We are not constrained by a fixed investment period. That gives us two freedoms that most institutional capital lacks: the freedom to hold for as long as a business deserves, and the freedom to act within days when a situation demands it.
Where we invest
Six strategies, one investment committee.
We invest across the capital structure and throughout the life of a company, from late-stage private rounds to permanent ownership. Each strategy is run by a dedicated team and approved by a single investment committee.
Pre-IPO & Growth Equity
Minority and significant-minority positions in established private companies that are two to four years from a public listing or strategic exit.
Listed Equities
A concentrated portfolio of publicly listed companies across Asia, held with an owner's mindset over a multi-year horizon.
Private Credit & Structured Finance
Senior and structured lending to mid-market companies and asset owners where banks are slow, constrained or absent.
Real Assets
Direct ownership of income-producing property and infrastructure-like assets, held for long-term cash yield and the preservation of capital.
Special Situations
Complex, time-sensitive or misunderstood opportunities in which flexible capital and careful analysis are the advantage.
Strategic Holdings
Controlling or significant long-term stakes in operating businesses that we intend to own for decades.
How we think
Principles that do not change with the market.
These are not marketing statements. They are the standards the investment committee applies to every proposal, and the reason we decline most of them.
01
Alignment with the people we back
We invest alongside founders, management teams and borrowers whose interests run in the same direction as ours. Where they do not, we would rather decline than structure around the problem.
02
Preservation before return
Every analysis begins with what could go wrong. If an investment cannot withstand our downside case, it does not proceed, however attractive the upside.
03
Concentration with conviction
We would rather own a small number of businesses we understand thoroughly than a long list we know only superficially. Every position has to matter.
04
Time is our advantage
We are not constrained by a fixed investment period, so we can hold for decades or act within days. We use both freedoms deliberately, and we never let the calendar make an investment decision.
05
Direct relationships
We invest in people as much as in businesses. Founders, management teams and borrowers deal directly with the people who make the decisions, and those relationships outlast any single transaction.
06
Conduct as capital
Our reputation is the asset that makes every other investment possible. We do not pursue returns that would put it at risk.
Process
Decisions taken in the room, by the people who will live with them.
A documented process from first meeting to ownership, with a weekly investment committee and no external approvals.
- 01
Origination
Opportunities come from our own research, from founders and management teams we know, and from a network of sponsors, advisers and co-investors in Hong Kong and across the region. Every proposal is screened against our published criteria within ten business days.
- 02
Preliminary review
A two-person deal team prepares a short memorandum covering the business, the people, the structure and the principal risks. The investment committee then decides whether to commit resources to full diligence.
- 03
Diligence
Commercial, financial, legal and reputational diligence is led in-house and supported by external advisers where specialist input is required. We meet customers, suppliers and former employees, and we form our own view of the numbers.
- 04
Investment committee
The committee meets weekly. Approval requires a written recommendation, a downside case the firm can tolerate and the absence of any unresolved conflict. Any member may decline a proposal.
- 05
Structuring and execution
We negotiate directly and document conservatively. We prefer simple structures whose protections rest on governance and information rights rather than on complex economics.
- 06
Ownership
After completion, the deal team remains responsible for the investment. Every position is reviewed quarterly against its original thesis, and we engage with management as active, supportive owners.
Sectors
Industries we know well enough to own.
We confine ourselves to sectors in which we have followed the companies, met the operators and understood the economics.
For founders and owners
What it means to have a long-term investor as your partner.
When you deal with Elite Prime, you are dealing with the people who make the decisions. There is no investment period that forces a sale and no committee that meets once a quarter.
We can offer indicative terms within two to four weeks, completion within six to twelve, and a shareholder who will remain on the register for as long as the business deserves.

The most common cause of a delayed or disappointing listing is not the business. It is the governance work left until the sponsor has been appointed.
